Massage is the manipulation of the body's soft tissues, muscles and joints. Massage has been practiced around the world throughout human history and is on the the earliest tools used to help relive pain. Integrated massage is simply utilizing many different massage techniques/modalities to give the client, you, the best possible results. Techniques that I draw from are Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, Shiatsu, pregnancy, and sports massage. I also utilize both hot/cold therapy, aromatherapy and sound therapy as needed or desired within a session.
Each session begins with an in person intake and check in of where you are in that moment. From there the session is tailored to fit what you need. Working with you to incorporate your goals for healing. Massage can help to simulate the parasympathetic nervous system, often referred to as the 'the rest and digest' side of the nervous system. Activating this response helps to drop the body into a deeply relaxed state which allows the body to open into its own healing nature.
As a massage therapist I am keenly aware of the intimate nature of massage and work hard to create a place where all can feel safe to experience the deep healing benefits of massage.
